The territory of Prosecco
Valdobbiadene
The torritory surrounding our structure are the Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG, a special area deep in the nature and vineyards.
Since 2019 this area is part of the Unesco World Heritage.
Living Valdobbiadene means being in close contact with nature and loving the main product of this territory, the Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG.
Travelling along our roads that flank the vines’ rows, you can admire the green of the vineyards and between July and October the straw-yellow color of our grapes.
The area is characterized by a heavily anthropized pre-alpine hilly environment.
The presence of man has assumed an important role as, since ancient times, it has crerate a series of small settlements.
The current landscape of the hills and areas close to the mountain is the result of a conscious transformation of the natural environment as a function of the agricultural activity. In addition to the rural buildings, there are numerous artifacts that testify to peasant and artisan life. Among these, stand out the numerous canals, fountains, drinking troughs and wash houses.

The “Roggia” of our reality
In the past each square and each district had its fountain, its wash house, its drinking trough.
They were used to supply water, to wash the laundry, to quench the thirst of animals. But they didn’t just have a logistical function: they had an important social role. There the wayfarers, the women and the farmers with their cattle used to come and stop. The drinking trough was a meeting point, a place for socialization, for the exchange of experiences, for discussion.
In the Valdobbiadene area, due to the contact between permeable geological formations and water table (fissured limestones) and impermeable formations (clays), aquifers have formed. They feed numerous springs, which are intercept by aqueducts, fountains and trough.

- area della sorgente “Cordana”: fontana/lavatoio individuabile nell’omonimo “lavatoio Cordana”, dotato di galleria di presa, vasca raccolta acque, fontana e lavatoio; centro dell’antico aggregato abitativo della Cordana;
- area del Parco di Villa dei Cedri: sorgente-fontana collocata all’interno del Parco di Villa dei Cedri lungo la linea dei canali interrati che alimentavano le ruote dei mulini/filatoi;
- area a sud di Via Molini: lavatoio composto da fontana con colonna in ghisa, vasca raccolta, acqua/lavatoio in blocco di cemento monolitico, organizzata su due livelli funzionali legati ai canali di adduzione dell’acqua;
- area posta a sud di Viale Mazzini: fontana oggi non più visibile.
